SIBU (July 22): Pelawan assemblyman David Wong praised Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem for not supporting the implementation of Hudud law in Sarawak.

Speaking at the breaking of fast hosted by DAP, Wong, who is also Sarawak DAP vice chairman, said the chief minister’s decision would go a long way in maintaining racial harmony in the state, adding Sarawak had been unique in terms of its racial and religious composition.

He also said Adenan’s decision was in line with the Malaysia Agreement that Sarawak would not be an Islamic state and without an official religion.
