This message was conveyed to the Chief Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Abdullah Saidol, at a meet-the-people session recently.

According to the branch, the islanders need good roads to connect their area to places such Sibu, Matu, Daro and Tanjung Manis. It also calls for roads to be built to link the villages on the Island.

Steady supply of clean water was also raised at the session.

The branch said during the dry spell, Kampungs Bruit, Penipah and Tekajong often ran out potable water.

Villages such as Sebako, Kelay and Sedik also needed power supply, it added.

Abdullah, who is Semop assemblyman, assured the branch he would look into requests and suggestions raised.

He urged the branch’s executive committee to inform the people of the projects the government had implemented or was implementing in their area. Source
